Who’s ready to start their engines? Grand stands 1 and 9 offers free general admission seating for the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear on Friday only. Of course the cars will be roaring through the streets of Downtown Detroit, but there are other events happening in the area for the entire family.
In Hart Plaza, there are food trucks, and a fan zone offers everything from a basketball shoot-out, to baseball throwing, cornhole, and much more. There you can also take a photo in a real Indy Race Car, and then head over to a nearby winners stand to capture photos just like the pros.
There will also be activities along Woodward Avenue and all of the family fun events are free the entire weekend.
