A successful weekend for the Detroit Grand Prix

President and Chairman of the Grand Prix shared the success of the big weekend

It was an exciting weekend in Detroit as the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear took place. The winner of the Grand Prix was Scott Dixon who has now won the race for the fourth time in Detroit. Bud Denker, the Chairman of the Grand Prix, and Michael Montri, the President of the Grand Prix appeared on “Live in the D” to talk about the successful weekend.

Montri appreciated the amount of people that showed up as a tremendous amount of work went into the event.

Denker appreciated not only the crowd of people, but how great Detroit looked. He said the event was a great follow-up after the NFL Draft that took place not too long ago.

Denker also spoke to how the weekend event used to be far more exclusive in previous years. Up until 2023, the event took place on Belle Isle where people would have to take a bus on and off the island. Now you can freely enter downtown Detroit to watch some races.

All the passing of cars and bouncing off the walls during the 100-lap race was a ton of fun for fans. Despite the event being very large in scope to pull off, Montri and Denker feel satisfied with how the weekend turned out.
