Take a trip to the movie theatre this weekend as the hit movie “Inside Out 2″ in theatres today. Movie reviewer Greg Russell appeared on “Live in the D” to talk about the new movie along with the documentary “Remembering Gene Wilder” and the movie “Black Ice: The Rhythm”.
Riley is back in “Inside Out 2″ but this time she’s going through the emotions of her teenage years. With puberty comes anxiety, envy, embarrassment and ennui. “It’s (’Inside Out 2′) very good and especially for teenagers who are going through so many emotional things right now,” said Russell. Russell gave the movie a four out of five reels saying how it’s a great movie and many critics enjoyed it.
The next movie Russell talked about was “Remembering Gene Wilder”. This movie is a documentary on the life of the late actor Gene Wilder. Russel gave the film another four out of five reels explaining how the movie is really good especially if you grew up with Wilder’s movies.
The last movie Russell touched on was “Black Ice: The Rhythm”. This movie was shot in Detroit and is all about black children playing hockey. The movie’s creator, Gerald McBride, got inspiration for the movie from going to a hockey game for the University of Michigan vs Massachusetts. McBride explained how it was a packed-out crowd, but he was the only African American in the arena. It was surreal for McBride to see the movie he’d been making for years on the big screen. Russell grew up playing hockey, so he gave this Detroit film four out of five reels.
