Claressa Shields to step into the boxing ring in Detroit

Heavyweight bout will be held at Little Caesars Arena

The GWOAT, the greatest woman of all time, Claressa Shields is getting ready to show off her skills when she takes on Vanessa Lepage-Joanisse on July 27th at Little Caesars Arena.

This fight will be the world champion boxer and 2-time Olympic gold medalist’s 4th weight class as it’ll be a heavyweight bout.

“I conquered all the girls at 154, I was undisputed there. I was undisputed twice at 160. I’ve had world titles at 168. there wasn’t anywhere else to go but up,” said Shields.

One of Shields biggest motivators is proving her doubters wrong. One way she’s able to prove those doubters wrong is by her grit. She says she got her grit from her late grandmother who battled cancer multiple times.

Shields has fought MMA before, but she prefers boxing as the sport was her first love. She’s been boxing since she was 11 and she’s proven herself as a fighter.

“Boxers are true fighters and I’m a true fighter,” said Shields.
