Ypsilanti Juneteenth Celebration will be held this weekend

Events scheduled for June 21st - June 23rd

Today is Juneteenth, which commemorates when the last enslaved people in the United States found out they had freedom. Celebrations are happening across the Detroit area and the nation. One of them is the Ypsilanti Juneteenth Celebration, which is taking place this weekend.

Downtown Ypsilanti will be filled with activities, including vendors selling food and clothes. Music is a big part of the celebration with multiple acts taking the stage throughout the weekend. Saturday night’s headliner is Detroit music artist Dwele.

The Ypsilanti Juneteenth Celebration will be held Friday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the South Huron parking lot located at 107 Ferris Street in Ypsilanti.
