Summer means fun with the family, but constantly coming up with ideas to keep kids entertained can be tough.
Kerry Doman with “Little Guide Detroit” has some suggestions for destinations and activities that could add some extra fun to your summer.
There are a number of dinosaur-themed adventures to check out with the kids. Giant dinos are taking over the Detroit Zoo all summer long with Dinosauria. In addition to the animatronic dinosaurs, there are dig sites for the kids to get a hands-on experience. Visitors can see Dinosaurs in Motion at The Henry Ford in Dearborn. You can make the life-size metal dinosaurs move using levers and pulleys. Another dino adventure is Jurassic Farms at Kackleberry Farms in Monroe. This is the final weekend to enjoy Jurassic Farms.
With the summer heat and storms, you might want to add some indoor destinations to your summer bucket list. Kerry’s suggestions include SeaLife Aquarium, Peppa Pig World of Play, and LEGOLAND in Auburn Hills.
Parents might start to feel like all of the summer adventures are really adding up when it comes to the cost, so it’s good to add some ideas that won’t break the bank. You can head to local libraries and enjoy more than just good books. Kerry explained that there are activities you can do at the library, and they often even have some you can take home.
