It’s no secret that every parent wants the best for their child, and wants them to succeed. Then there are those who have watched their children grow into global celebrities and Tati Amare, host of “Live in the D”, had the chance to chat with two of them.
Lucille O’Neal, mother of basketball star Shaquille O’ Neal, and Sonya Curry, mother of basketball star Stephen Curry, spoke about their experiences raising basketball icons and the new show. “We wanted the parents to share their journey how they got from a certain place to the present place,” said O’Neal.
The ladies are featured along with other celebrity parents on the new show “Raising Fame.” O’Neal said, it’s important for the truth to be told through them, the parents, and not journalists, media, and social media.
Curry said, people watching the show can expect to be immersed in the family’s history, because they travel to the homes of the stars being featured and take viewers on a historic journey into their lives growing up.
Some of the other celebrities being featured on the show include Chance the Rapper, Magic Johnson, Fantasia, and more.
The show airs Sundays on TV One at 10p.
