The Minions are back on the big screen

Here are a few movie suggestions for your Fourth of July weekend

Get ready, because Gru, the Minions, and all of your favorites from ‘Despicable Me’ are back.

The new adventure hits theaters Wednesday, so will they top the box office? Movie reviewer Greg Russell joined “Live in the D” in studio to talk about the film, and two other movies debuting this holiday week.

In “Despicable Me 4,” Gru, the minions and their entire family are on the run from supervillain Maxime and his wife Valentina. The animated film stars Steve Carell, Miranda Cosgrove and Kristen Wiig. Russell says Hollywood heavy hitters, Will Ferrell and Sofia Vergara are joining the franchise.

“A Family Affair” stars Nicole Kidman, Zac Efron and Joey King. The film centers on a young woman whose mother and her movie star boss face complications of love and identity. Russell gives this film three out of five reels.

Finally, the highly anticipated, “Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F” is premiering on Netflix.

“Eddie Murphy’s back as Detroit’s favorite cop,” Russell said. He’s being called out to Beverly Hills because his daughter lives there now. Some trouble breaks out, so he’s got to go out and help her.”

This is the fourth Beverly Hills Cop Movie and Greg Russell gives it four out of five reels.
