One of the biggest foodie crazes on TikTok is the Dubai chocolate bar. Like the name suggests, it originated in Dubai, but you can grab a taste right here in the Detroit area.
Farhat Sweets in Troy sells Dubai chocolate, but you may want to act fast because they are flying off the shelves.
“Live in the D” host Tati Amare took a tour of the kitchen and even learned how they make this special chocolate that’s racked up millions of views on social media.
Owner Rachid Farhat says it was his wife that gave him the idea to sell Dubai chocolate,
“When my wife told me look at this trend on TikTok, I kind of ignored it. Then we started getting phone call after phone call, ‘Hey, do you guys make Dubai chocolate?’ and I decided it was time to listen to my wife for once, and that’s what we did”
So, what exactly is Dubai chocolate?
It has pistachio, simple syrup, topped with chocolate, cooled down and then decorated. Tati even decorated a few bars herself!
Rachid says they don’t keep the chocolate on display simply because they continue to sell out. He says they have probably gone through three to five thousand bars in the last few weeks alone.
