Say something or leave it alone?

What would you do in these situations?

Say something or leave it alone? This is a question everyone is forced to answer quite often. To give their opinion on responding to a couple of difficult scenarios Orland Bailey, Executive Director of Outlier Media and Co-host of the Authentically Detroit Podcast, and April “AP” Lockett appeared on “Live In The D” for “What’s the Buzz?”

Would you say something if you overheard a conversation where something somebody said was a lie, or would you leave it alone? Lockett and Bailey both explained how that’s extremely situational. If they know the person, the two people are gossiping about then they they’ll make sure to speak up. However, if the conversation is about something completely unrelated to them, then to them it’s none of their business.

The next question asked was if a friend was acting shady, would they call them out on it? Without hesitation both of them elected to say something. They explained how if you’re friends with someone, it’s important to hold each other to a high standard.

The last question was about if a friend got a poor haircut, would they say something? Without question both of them voted that they would say something. Although, they wouldn’t approach the situation in a super aggressive way.

“Yes. All day. You’re my friend, if it doesn’t suit you, I’m going to tell you because I want you to look your best all the time,” said Bailey.
