Volunteering to help pets at Michigan Humane is something they rely on every year but what about kids who don’t meet the age requirement to volunteer?
Michigan Humane’s AnnMarie Chamberlain and Gillian Hanton demonstrated a fun way to get the little ones involved.
- Make a foraging bag. This is most appealing to dogs. You can take some treats or part of their meal, place them in a toilet paper roll, seal it up and place in a snack bag. The dog will have to rip it apart to get to the food. This is great for pets at home, but kids can also make them for shelter dogs.
The pet of the week is a two-year-old domestic short hair cat named Beige. He’s very sweet and cuddly. A good home for Beige is a house full of toys and he is very low maintenance. The Mike Morse Law Firm will pay the standard adoption fee for whoever adopts him.
