Like many 6 year old boys, Malachi Randalle enjoyed watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and The Karate Kid, but for him, he not only watched, he was inspired to be like them.
Starting out in a Martial Arts boot camp, a few years later, Malachi would go on to compete. Now, as a 12 year old, he’s a black belt with several titles including 5 world titles. Reporter, April Morton with “Live in the D” caught up with the young athlete during a practice in Southfield.
“I started with local competitions. Now, I have tournaments all over the globe,” Malachi said.
He’s now preparing for the World Karate Kick Boxing Commission Tournament happening in Portugal in October. Malachi along with three team mates will represent the United States and compete against 15 other countries. He is now working to raise funds to get him there.
