Rides, art, music, and games can be found around town this weekend

There is a lot happening and there’s something for everyone

The weekend is just a day away, and there’s plenty to do for just about everyone, including a popular family event that starts today.

The gates for the Sterling Fest and Art Fair opened this morning. The annual event will feature a full midway with games and carnival rides, food from local restaurants and food trucks, vendors, art, kids activities, music and other entertainment. The fun goes through Saturday in Sterling Heights at Utica Road and Dodge Park Road.

Next up, celebrate Pride in Royal Oak. The city will hold its highly anticipated event in a new location this year, the civic center area. The event will feature fun activities, food trucks, vendors, and national entertainment. It’s happening Friday through Saturday in Downtown Royal Oak.

Now to an event for the art lovers. It’s the Orchard Lake Fine Art Show. The event that’s in it’s 21 year will feature original art and fine crafts, paintings, sculpture, jewelry and more form 120 nationally recognized artists. There will also be food, entertainment, and youth art competition. It’s all happening Saturday through Sunday on Orchard Lake in West Bloomfield.

Finally, The Lake Fest brings STEAM learning to kids at the Ford House. Kids will learn about the cool animals that call the Lake home through hands-on activities like fishing, and a scavenger hunt around the estate. This happens Saturday 1pm through 4 p.m. in Grosse Pointe Shores.
