Carol Burnett has won Emmys, a Tony, a Grammy, Golden Globe Awards, the Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement Award, and was even awarded the presidential Medal of Freedom. She shattered glass ceilings in Hollywood and the world of comedy, and now, at the age of 91, the actress is once again making history.
Burnett became the oldest female comedy acting nominee when she was nominated for an Emmy in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. The nomination is for her her role in “Palm Royale”, which is a series about Palm Beach High society. Burnett plays the character Norma Dellacorte who is known as the queen of Palm Beach. “Palm Royale” has a total of 11 Emmy nominations. The Emmys will be handed out on September 15th, which is when fans can see if Burnett lands another Emmy. To put the longevity of her career in perspective, Burnett earned her first ever Emmy back in 1962.
