PONTIAC, Mich. – The film industry has yet another connection to Michigan.
The film “Wake” was made in the state and produced by Emmy-nominated filmmaker Sam Logan Khaleghi. Sam joined Live in the D to talk about the film and why he wants to continue shooting in his hometown.
“Wake” is about a struggling actress, desperate for a lead role in a Hollywood remake, who tracks down the lead of the original film who’s now a mysterious recluse. Strange occurrences quickly turn the meeting into a nightmare.
The film was shot mostly at the historic Wisner mansion in Pontiac.
Khaleghi said Michigan is the perfect place to shoot cinematically,
“You’ve got sand dunes, the urban epicenter of the city, we’ve shot a war film in the city,” Khaleghi said. “It really can represent anything you want.”
Khaleghi is currently working on a holiday romantic comedy and looking to staff crew and extras.
