How the Girl Scouts have changed over the years

This grandmother and granddaughter share a love for the organization

From skydiving to scuba diving, being a Girl Scout in 2024 means you’re doing more than selling cookies.

Peyton Kirkland, 11, says she loves everything about being a Girl Scout. She’s experienced so many adventures, her favorite being lifted way above ground at ifly.

Peyton’s grandmother, Dena, was a Scout in the seventies and says things have changed. A casual uniform, more excursions and building marketing plans for cookie sales are just a few things that have evolved in the world of Girl Scouts, but the passion for their troop and the entire Girl Scouts organization spans generations.
