Snap a picture because August 19th is World Photography Day. These days it’s easy to show off your photography skills with just your phone and social media.
“Live In The D” host Tati Amare talked about taking photos with guest host Blaine Fowler, comedian Dave Mishevitz, and Jason Hall from RiDetroit.
First, the group discussed whether taking a picture captures the moment or ruins the moment. Dave shared a story about going to a milestone baseball game for former Detroit Tiger Miguel Cabrera. Dave explained that people were so focused on capturing the moment that Cabrera broke a record that they ruined the moment. Jason agreed that taking a picture can ruin the moment. Meanwhile, Tati called it a “delicate balance.”
Next, the group moved on to whether they still print pictures. Jason is not a fan of printing out photos. Tati talked about printing photos for frames, but Jason said he’d rather put art on the walls. Blaine brought up how people used to have to take film to the store to get developed and have to wait to get the pictures back.
The conversation also included selfies, owning a camera, and whether people take one photo and move on or do a photoshoot to get the best picture. Watch the video above to see the group’s entire conversation during What’s the Buzz on “Live In The D.”
