It’s growing season, flowers are in bloom, veggies are ripe and beautiful, but depending on where you live in the state you may think finding fresh produce from a farm stand will take you on a journey across city lines. There’s where Featherstone Garden steps in.
This urban garden is nestled right in the heart of Downtown Detroit. Featherstone partnered with MGM Grand for their downtown location with the intention of bringing together the community and creating positive resources in an urban environment.
Featherstone’s promoter, Brent Smith says it provides the healing benefits of gardening but it also offers a place for creatives to gather. “We host an open mic every first and third Thursday, it’s called Growetry. Post the pandemic, we just want people to gather, enjoy themselves in nature, and hear some really good poets and hear some really good music.”
Featherstone is open to the public and offers a farm stand for your produce needs, as well as produce subscriptions.
