The weekend is just around the corner, and if you’re looking for something to do, there’s plenty of happenings all around Metro Detroit.

First up, as we gear up for the upcoming Lions football season, there’s a new exhibition opening in honor of our beloved team. The “Gridiron Heroes” exhibit will feature highlights from the team’s championship seasons in the 1930s and 50s. Artifacts like trophies and uniforms will be on display. There will also be pop-ups featuring items from this year’s NFL Draft. The exhibition opens Friday at the Detroit Historical Museum.

Next up, the annual Novi Taco Fest will feature live music, contests, wrestling, kids activities, and, of course, award-winning tacos. Drinks will also be on tap like margaritas, beer, tequilas and more. The festival runs Friday through Sunday at the 12 Mile Crossings at Fountain Walk.

From tacos to science, The Michigan Science Center is bringing the fun and learning outside. The traveling science outdoor event will feature hands-on experiments, live demos, and giveaways. The event is happening Friday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. right outside the front doors of MI-SCI in Detroit.

Take a trip to Greece without leaving Michigan. The annual Taste of Greece Festival will feature a vibrant celebration of Greek culture with dance performances, traditional music, authentic dishes, family activities, and more. The festival runs today through Sunday in Plymouth.

Lastly, movie lovers have the chance to catch a classic flick for free. The Redford Theatre will host a free movie for all residents event on Saturday and Sunday. The classic Indiana Jones film will be shown in rare 35mm screening. Showings will be at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. For each show, 400 free tickets are available online, and 100 free tickets are available at the door. Use code Pluto.
