Do you think you could name a song in one note? An Ann Arbor DJ is asking people that question on social media, and he’s gone viral.
Derrick Castenholz is the owner of DJ DC Productions, which is a DJ crew that performs at events in Ann Arbor and the Metro Detroit area. However, he also shares his love for music on TikTok. Castenholz said he got started on social media out of necessity when the pandemic hit.
“It was either sit home, sit on my hands, and do nothing and watch my business die, or try to get out there in front of some eyes for when events opened back up,” Castenholz said.
Castenholz turned to social media and created the One Note Challenge where he plays one note of a song and asks people to name the song. The game and his videos have become a hit on TikTok where Derrick now has more than 600,000 followers. He even has more than 49 million views on a single TikTok.
