Renowned-poet Jessica Care Moore will be bringing Black women who rock together for a special concert in Detroit.
The show at The Fillmore will celebrate the 20th anniversary of Black Women Rock, which Jessica Care Moore founded in 2004.
“It’s about celebrating Black women who you may not hear on the radio,” Moore said.
Tamar-kali, Divinity Roxx, Kimberly Nichole, Steffanie Christi’an, SATE, Nik West, Joi, Grace Gibson, Amyra León, and other artists will be performing at the concert on August 31st. Jessica Care Moore called the group contemporary women of rock and roll and funk. Moore herself will be performing as well.
Jessica Care Moore also has a new movie that she wrote called “He Looked Like a Postcard”. Watch the video above to see her talk about the movie and the upcoming concert.
