There’s more to this festival than rides and food

The Romeo Peach Festival makes a big impact on its community

The Romeo Peach Festival is known for being one of the premiere Labor Day weekend festivals. It has everything from carnivals rides to food to music to a beer cave, but there is a bigger mission behind this festival.

The Romeo Lions Club hosts the event every year and a portion of proceeds raised from ticket sales and onsite purchases goes to helping local charities. One of the big beneficiaries is Leader Dog for the Blind.

“Live In The D” host Tati Amare spoke with Christina Hepner from the organization to learn more about what they do to train these dogs to assist the visually impaired. Tati also got to meet a dog in training.
