If you’ve driven down Livernois near McNichols on Detroit’s westside, chances are you’ve seen a huge three-story pink building. The sign outside reads, salon, health spa, and beauty supply, but the Pink Diamond Beauty Mall offers much more.
“A beauty mall is all things beauty, anything that you can think of related to health and beauty, that’s what the beauty mall is all about,” said Owner Katrina Belin.
She said they not only offer hair, nails, and makeup services, but they also focus on the inner beauty. “We want to make sure the woman is whole and complete inside,” she said. By this, Belin said they have a full spa staffed with professionals offering mind and body wellness.
The mall opened in early 2024, but the vision Belin had has been with her for years. She said growing up in foster care she knew she always wanted to give back to her community and provide a platform for entrepreneurs, and that’s exactly what she’s doing.
In addition to holding pop-up events where local small businesses have the opportunity to display their goods, there’s a boutique on the 3rd floor of the mall featuring clothing and accessory designs by local designers. The mall will soon welcome a beauty supply and café.
