The founder of a luxury bag company is sharing his love for Detroit and his family through fashion.
Tim Jones is the man behind the Carrick Macross brand, which makes crossbody, clutch, and messenger bags.
Tim started off as a leather hobbyist, but his skills eventually grew into a business. “I got to the point where I got really good, and I sold some to a group of attorneys. And, they told they would have paid like five or six times the amount of what I charged them,” Tim said.
The brand was named Carrick Macross in honor of Tim’s ancestors who were from Carrickmacross, Ireland. Tim also launched a Corktown collection, which pays tribute to the community where his parents grew up.
Something you’ll notice when you open a Carrick Macross bag is the homespun Scottish tartan for the interior lining.
