Dogs aren’t the only playful pets

Happy Cat Month sheds light on playful felines

When it comes to pets, there’s a stereotype that cats aren’t active or engaging. Some think felines just lay around and don’t do much, but that’s not the case. Lidia Vesterfelt from Michigan Humane, stopped by “Live in the D” to chat about cats.

She brought 3 month old kitten Viking along with her, and he proved that cats don’t just sit around. “He is very active. He’s only going to become more active once he gets out of the shelter,” Vesterfelt told host Tati Amare.

She said, just like dogs, cats need physical and mental enrichment, and, in light of Happy Cat Month, she wants people to know cats are tons of fun, and they enjoy playing.

Viking and other kittens and cats are available for adoption, and the Mike Morse Law Firm will pay for standard adoption fees for today’s pet of the week.
