It was a star-studded party at the Emmy Awards Sunday night in Los Angeles, and aside from the big winners taking home Emmys, there were also winners on the red carpet.
“Live In The D” host Tati Amare talked about the red carpet looks with Local 4 Style Editor Jon Jordan and AJ Williams, who is the managing editor at The Michigan Chronicle and the City. Life. Style. editor as well.
The group started by talking about what Selena Gomez wore to the awards show, which was a black custom Ralph Lauren gown that featured a halter neckline with silver detailing. Gomez had one of Jon’s favorite looks of the night. He said it was timeless and flattering. AJ called it a classic gown, but she said she didn’t think it was the most flattering look she’s seen Gomez wear.
Next, the conversation moved to the Black Dolce & Gabbana tank top worn by actor Tyler James Williams. “This is a trend, sleeveless for men, and not in warm weather,” Jon said.
However, not everything was a hit on the red carpet. Jon was not a fan of the ensemble worn by Nicola Coughlan from “Bridgerton”. She walked the red carpet in a silver, sequin-covered dress with a peplum top. Jon said he thought she was striving for a whimsy look.
“She was making a statement,” Jon said. “I just don’t think it was executed very well.”
Meanwhile, AJ liked the structure of Coughlan’s dress. However, she said she wasn’t a fan of the silver color. Instead, she thought it would have been better in a black or mauve color.
A look that both Jon and AJ loved was worn by actress Christine Baranski. She showed off a golden gown by Oscar de la Renta.
