From “Wedding Crashers” to “The Internship”, Vince Vaughn has kept audiences laughing for decades. Now, he’s back with a new series on Apple TV+, “Bad Monkey”.
The show follows the story of a former detective turned restaurant inspector in Key West, who gets drawn into a dark web of greed and corruption after a tourist discovers a severed arm while fishing. And yes, if you’re wondering, there’s a monkey involved.
Vaughn sat down with “Live in the D” host Tati Amare to discuss the series. He shared that “Bad Monkey” is based on the novel of the same name by Carl Hiaasen and was brought to the screen by creator Bill Lawrence. Vaughn spoke about his long-time friendship with Lawrence, highlighting the unique tone of the show which he described as a blend of crime and comedy.
As for the title, Vaughn confirmed that the monkey plays a key role in the story, staying true to the original novel.
“Bad Monkey” also features Rob Delaney, Natalie Martinez, Jodie Turner-Smith, Zach Braff, and Crystal the monkey as “Diggs”.
