Known for his hilarious stand-up and unforgettable roles in shows like “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and “Real Husbands of Hollywood”, JB Smoove has been making audiences laugh for decades. Ahead of his upcoming show in Detroit, JB sat down with “Live In The D” host Tati Amare to discuss his career, influences, and comedic style.
JB expressed his love for Detroit audiences saying, “They know how to have a good time. They love physical comedy, insightful comedy, and it’s always been a blast when I come through there.”
When it comes to his comedic influences, JB said legends like Richard Pryor, Redd Foxx, and George Carlin stand out, but he emphasized that physical comedy is at the heart of what he does. “It’s like see and say, but I’m say and see”
JB also talked to Tati about his role as Leon Black in “Curb Your Enthusiasm”. He said his experience in improv helped play the role in what’s arguably one of the best improv series on television.
JB Smoove will be performing on September 22nd at Soundboard Motor City Casino.
