As the leaves start to change colors and cooler weather moves in, you might be feeling the fall vibes outside, but what about inside your home? There are some tricks to transforming your home for the new season without going overboard.
Color is always something that catches the eye, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s time to fil your home with orange and black like you might typically associate with Halloween. Instead, you can incorporate a neutral, warm and earthy color palette, explained Paige Loperfido, the founder and principal designer for Decor and More Design Studio. She said color palette can last you from early September all the way through November.
Another easy way to transform from summer to fall is to embrace the new scents of the season.
“When I think of fall, I think of apple orchards, cinnamon spice, the falling leaves, so one easy thing that we can do to update our homes for the season is to switch out those citrusy summer fragrances for those that are more fall-inspired,” said Jessica Brooks with Decor and More Design Studio. Examples include candles and soaps.
You can also make it feel more like fall in your home by swapping out lighter-weight summer throws for more textured and chunky, knit wool throws and blankets, Jessica mentioned.
When it comes to greenery, Paige recommends hydrangeas this time of year.
