This St. Clair Shores restaurant once sat on an island

Restaurant that opened in the early 1900′s still going strong

Imagine moving an entire restaurant from an island, to Jefferson Avenue in St. Clair Shores. Well that’s exactly how the Blue Goose came to be in it’s current location. “The Blue Goose was originally built in the early 1900′s, and a lot of people don’t know this but it was actually located on Harsen’s Island,” Nina Tringali, the House Manager for Blue Goose said.

She said the restaurant was brought over on a barge in 1908 to its current location. The restaurant closed for a couple of years to undergo a complete renovation and re-opened in late 2023. Tringail said, the façade may be different, but the restaurant still has what it’s known for whish is live music on select nights, a lively environment, and great food.
