Talk show host Jennifer Hudson stops by ‘Live in the D’

The superstar discussed Season 3, Christmas album, and why she loves Detroit

“Live in the D is known for having some pretty cool guests on the show, but Wednesday, an EGOT winner stopped by, and expressed her love for the city.

“I just love Detroit. I’m so happy to be here. I don’t know what to do with myself,” said Jennifer Hudson. The Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony winner said Detroit feels like home to her, and she feels a connection to the city because it’s home to the “Queen of Soul” Aretha Franklin, and Motown music.

Of course Hudson is known for getting her start as a contestant on “American Idol,” but after years of success in the music and entertainment world, she also has her own day-time talk show, “The Jennifer Hudson Show.” The show is in it’s 3rd season, and she chatted about what people can expect.

“I gave her a little surprise on the show. We talked nails and kids,” Hudson said about guest Gwen Stefani, who appeared on the show.

Hudson also announced she will soon release her very 1st Christmas Album, and plans to tour.
