Little River Band is back in Detroit

The rock group is currently on a North American tour

Little River Band, formed in 1975 in Australia, rose to fame in the U.S with hits like “Lady,” “Reminiscing,” and “Lonesome Loser.” Now, nearly five decades later, the band continues to attract audiences of all ages. They’ll be performing at the Music Hall Center for the Performing Arts, presented by Hollywood Casino at Greektown, on October 11th.

Ahead of their show, band member Wayne Nelson spoke with “Live in the D” host Tati Amare to discuss the upcoming concert and how new generations are discovering their music through social media.

During the interview, Nelson reflected on the band’s record-setting run in the late ‘70s and early ‘80s, becoming the first group to have a top ten hit for six consecutive years. “You put those things together with a crowd that comes to see the band now in our 49th year, and it still feels fresh.”

The band’s ongoing popularity, bolstered by social media sites like Tik Tok, has introduced them to younger fans, leading to a multi-generational resurgence. “No complaints at all,” Nelson added. He also talked about his excitement when performing in Detroit, stating they sold out many times.
