The Detroit food scene is on fire, and this week there’s a special dinner series where you can get a taste of dishes created by unique chef collaborations.
Hour Detroit’s Savor Detroit Dinner Series is a four-night dinner series at the Great Lakes Culinary Center in Southfield.
“We are taking eight amazing chefs, pairing them up two each night, to create a five-course meal that you’re only going to ever find here with Hour Detroit,” said Regan Wright who is the Communications and Public Relations Lead. “We have wine pairings with each single course, along with live music.”
The Savor Detroit Dinner Series runs October 14th through 17th.
Watch the video above to learn more about the dinner series and to see participating Chef Zharko Palushaj, the owner of La Strada Italian Kitchen & Bar, make Tagliolini with Truffles during his appearance on “Live In The D”.
Below you’ll find the chef’s recipe:
For the pasta
- 500g of pasta flour
- 3 Eggs
For the topping
- 50g Butter
- Fresh white truffle
- Parmigiano Reggiano
- Salt to taste
1. Pour the flower into a work surface and create a wall in the center.
2. Drop the eggs in the center and work them into flour until a smooth and consistent dough forms.
3. Let it sit for about 30 minutes.
4. Then roll it out to about 1 mm thick and cut it into strips 3 mm wide.
5. Boil the Tagliolini in a salted water.
6. In the meantime, melt the butter in a pan and add some of the truffle thinly sliced.
7. Add some Robiola cheese.
8. Strain the pasta after 2 to 3 minutes of cooking when it’s al dente and coat with the melted butter, parmigiano Reggiano and the remaining thinly sliced truffles.
