Create your own body butter

Skincare is more than just a routine, it’s an opportunity for self-expression and self-care. At Glo N’ Go Body Shop, you can indulge in both, creating personalized body butter in a fun and cozy setting. Owner Kalani Wheeler stopped by “Live in the D” to share her process for making the butter from scratch with host Tati Amare and guest co-host T Barb.

  • Mix Carrier Oils: Choose from hydrating oils like sweet almond, grapeseed, or avocado. These oils are blended into whipped shea butter, the rich base of the product.
  • Add Fragrance: For a personalized scent, Wheeler suggests adding around 40 drops of your favorite fragrance oil to the mix.
  • Add Color: If you’d like to add a splash of color, mica powder can be mixed in for a subtle shimmer or a bold hue, depending on your preference.
  • Pipe and Store: The final step is to pipe the creamy mixture into a jar using a piping bag.
