It‘s the Halloween season and if you’re in the mood for a scary movie there’s something new in theaters this weekend. Movie reviewer Greg Russell stopped by “Live In The D” to share his thoughts in Reel Talk.
First up, Russell talked about “Smile 2″. The movie is about a world famous pop star who is haunted by terrifying and unexplainable events. Death surrounds her and as she looks for answers she‘s greeted with people who smile, but not in a welcoming manner. Russell gave the movie 3 1/2 reels out of a possible 5 saying this is a movie that’s definitely for those who like the horror/terror genre.
Next Russell shared his thoughts on the movie “Exhibiting Forgiveness”. “This is all about a mother whose son is an artist,” said Russell. “The father who left way back when... he doesn’t want to come in and get some of the limelight, but he just wants to comes back in and spend some time with his son.” The movie focuses on whether or not a troubled pass can be put aside for a positive future. Russell gave the movie four out of five reels.
Finally, Russell talked about the movie “Goodrich” starring Michael Keaton and Mila Kunis. This movie is about a father played by Keaton who has young children and is left by his wife. He then reaches out to his adult daughter, played by Kunis, to ask for help and support as he tries to raise his young children on his own. The focus then turns to the relationship with his older daughter and how Keaton’s character is a different, more present father to his young kids. Russell says it is a great movie and gave it four out of five reels.
