Something for just about everyone even, fur babies

Lots happening around metro Detroit this weekend

Halloween is just around the corner, and there are a bunch of fun events that are already happening around the D. First up, if you plan to visit the Detroit Zoo, there‘s a brand new experience just in time for the fall season. The Jack o‘ Lantern Journey will feature illuminated pumpkins in an enchanting fall décor display. The experience is great for all ages and events, like date night, a family outing, or night out with friends. It’s happening Friday through Sunday, 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Next up, the city Detroit will celebrate Halloween with Scarefest. The annual event promises to be bigger and spookier with a zombie trail of terror, thrill rides, and fear factor mystery eats. There will also be candy giveaways, food trucks, face painting and other family friendly activates. The free festival is happening Saturday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Palmer Park in Detroit.

Next, an event for the fur babies. The 11th annual Grand Circus Dog Park Howl-O-Ween costume party is happening on Saturday. Doggie parents will get the chance to dress up their pup and themselves in spooky, silly, and unique costumes for a chance to win prizes. There will also be a DJ, pup and human treats, and giveaways. The party is from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Lastly, The Michigan Science Center is getting in on the Halloween fun. There will be two events. On Saturday and Sunday the daytime Spookacular will feature creepy chemistry, trick or treating, a costume parade and more. Then Saturday night, there’s an after dark event for those 21 and up featuring a live DJ, cocktails, and Halloween-themed activities,
