Keep your pets from being spooked this Halloween

Michigan Humane has some tips for the scariest night of the year

When Trick or Treaters come to the door on Halloween, there are some things pet owners should keep in mind. Lidia Vesterfelt of Michigan Humane joined “Live in the D” to discuss a few tips to keep pets from feeling frightened.

Vesterfelt said you should know how your pet reacts to strangers, so be sure to advocate for them. She also stated it’s important to provide a plan and place for them to go if they get stressed out.

October is “Prevent a Litter Month” and Vesterfelt brought up the importance of spaying and neutering your pets to avoid unintended litters and to promote pet health.

The pet of the week is an adorable nine-month-old cat named Pumpkin. The orange and white cutie is ready for a new home where he is the only cat in the family. He is very food motivated so will need an owner that enjoys giving treats.

The Mike Morse Law Firm will pay the standard adoption fees for whoever adopts today’s pet of the week. Visit their website here if you are looking for legal advice.
