It‘s a fun-filled Halloween in Detroit, and trick-or-treating isn‘t all that’s happening around the D, there’s plenty going on for all ages.
First up, celebrate the spooky day with “Halloween in the D.” The truck-or-treat event, put on by the city, is taking place at several police stations and fire engine houses. There will also be haunted houses and Halloween parties at different recreational centers throughout the city. The fun happens tonight from 5 p.m. to 7p.m..
The fun continues into the weekend with the city of Detroit’s Fall Fest. Families will enjoy carnival rides, a petting zoo, rock climbing, fall crafts, and more. There will also be a giveaway of 500 children’s winter coats. The festival happens Saturday at the Farewell Rec Center in Detroit.
Once Halloween comes to an end, if you’re looking for a fun way to get rid of those pumpkins, how about letting the kiddos toss them down a hill. The annual Pumpkin Roll is a great way to dispose of the pumpkins, and just let the kids go wild. There will also be a donut truck, and marshmallow roasting station. The event happens Friday, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Bloomer Park Sledding Hill, in Rochester Hills.
Lastly, for the adults, this is the last weekend to enjoy some scares. A couple haunted houses are open through Saturday. Hush: Haunted Attractions in Westland, and Erebus in Pontiac are open through Saturday.
