It’s a perfect way to warm your holiday hearts, walking through a Christmas tree wonderland, but the Festival of Trees goes beyond the just trees. Speaking on “Live in the D”, Theresa Diefenbach and Scott Killingbeck shared about how the festive event, benefits a special cause.
“We’ve been able to do so much for the hospital, the pediatric research,” said Diefenbach, Festival of Trees Executive Director. The event, that’s in it’s 40th year, supports Children’s Hospital of Michigan. “We sell the trees and the money that we get goes to the pediatric research funding through the evergreen endowment fund,” said Killingbeck, President of the Board of Directors for Festival of Trees.
Killingbeck designed one of the beautiful trees people will see at the festival as part of this years 40’s anniversary.
The festival also features Santa, a market place, wreaths and more. It runs through December 1 at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center in Dearborn.
