This Detroit organization is working to end chronic homelessness

Their brand new state-of-the-art facility offers a warm meal and so much more

There’s an organization on a mission to end chronic homelessness, and now, the Pope Francis Center, is doing so in a brand new, state-of-the-art facility.

“I wanted to make a transformational change in the lives of folks who are living on our streets,” said Father Tim Mccabe, President and CEO of the Pope Francis Center.

He said, to achieve this, he looked at 27 programs across the county to see who was most effective in fighting chronic homelessness. From that research their vision to open a new facility was born.

Breaking ground in 2021, their new campus is now open and already serving the community. Father Mccabe said the facility will provide those experiencing homelessness with everything they need including food, laundry services, and many other resources.

They also have a residential wing, a medical center, a full gymnasium, and classrooms for educational services.

The center operates with help from volunteers and donations. If you would like to offer any services, or to donate, click here
