More than 30,000 pieces of pottery, handcrafted by more than 130 artists will descend on Southfield this week. It’s all part of the Potter’s Market that will be at the Southfield Civic Center this Thursday through Sunday.
Pieces will include one of a kind art work, and functional pieces as well. Michael Arndt, one of the Artist who will be at the market, appeared on “Live In The D” to share his pottery that has many odes to Detroit. He also talked about some of the other work from artists who will be on hand.
In addition to unique art pieces being on display, there will be some interactive demos taking place. “There will be a pottery wheel there and throughout the day there will be potters there giving lessons for people to see,” said Arndt.
