Embracing the story of the Detroit Lions

A new book looks at everything that has led to the roar in the city

It’s no question that Detroit is 100% behind it’s surging Lions team. They currently are the top team in their NFL division, and they are one of the best teams in the NFL. But, it’s no secret the story of the Lions has had a tumultuous past. It’s all coming together now in a book written by Bill Morris who appeared on “Live In The D” to talk about why he wrote it.

The title of the book is “The Lions Finally Roar”. “It’s really about the fans of the team who have suffered all these years, and stuck with the team,” said Morris. “There’s a hardcore base of fans in this city unlike anywhere else I’ve been in the world.”

The book goes back to the beginning of the Ford era when it was purchased in 1963 Williams Clay Ford, Sr., and exams moments in time within the city, how it impacted the team, its fans, and how we got to where we are today.

“It’s not a football book, it’s a Detroit book,” said Morris. “I hope people take away a respect for Detroit, and the people of Detroit.”
