The holiday break is here, and if you’re looking to get out and enjoy some seasonal fun, there’s plenty to do for just about everyone in and around metro Detroit.
First, get ready to be immersed in festive holiday fun. The Taylor Winterfest kicked off this week with the Winterfest Stroll. Guests will experience a walk through magical, enchanted forest of lights, holiday characters and more. The event goes till Monday at Taylor’s Heritage Park Petting Farms Visitor Center.
Next, take a trip down memory lane in a historic place that has new life. Winter at the Station is taking place at the newly revamped Michigan Central Station. In addition to a dazzling lights display that greets you as you drive in, there will be musical performances, food, shopping deals and more. The festivities will end on December 28.
Next up it’s the Brightmoor Lightfest. See festive lights and very cool, unique giant Nutcracker Soldiers as you drive through the historic Detroit neighborhood. The soldiers were actually created by local artists, and made with recycled and repurposed supplies. The displays will be in place through January 3rd, 2025 in the area of Burgess and Lyndon streets.
Menorah in the D will light up the night time sky on December 25th. On the first night of Chanukkah, many will gather at Campus Martius for the festive event, where one candle will be lit to illuminate the start of the season. The event starts at 6 p.m..
