Do you have a new year’s resolution?

Friends of “Live In The D” talk about welcoming 2025

As we get ready to head into the new year, you might be thinking back about your favorite moments of 2024 or maybe you’re planning out your new year’s resolutions. To talk about it all, friends of “Live In The D” appeared on the show.

“Live In The D” host Tati Amare and guest host Aaron “Goose” Seller were joined by author and motivational speaker Mimi Brown and Orlando Bailey who is the executive director of Outlier Media and co-host of the Authentically Detroit podcast.

The group started out by talking about some of their best moments from 2024.

“I went to five countries in 25 days, and I did a TED Talk in New Zealand,” Mimi said.

“I did something this year that really, really scared me. I DJed a set at the DJ Selector series on the east side at Brix Wine,” Orlando said. “Sharing music is really, really personal, and a lot of people come out to that, and so I was afraid.”

Next, the conversation moved to what the group is looking forward to in 2025.

“I’m looking forward to just sticking to my goals and staying consistent,” Orlando said. He also talked about the importance of taking time for yourself.

Mimi shared that she’s planning to launch a podcast and that she’ll be releasing a book in the summer.

“Goose” said he’s going to work on the process of getting his private pilot’s license.

When it comes to new year’s resolutions, Mimi said she doesn’t believe in them. Instead, she believes in setting intentions.

“An intention is the compass that gets you there. A goal is just the destination,” Mimi said.
