Last chance to check out these holiday events

Things to do this weekend in Metro Detroit

The holidays may be over, but if you’re still in a festive mood, you have one last chance to check out some festive events.

First, catch these bright events before the lights dim for the season. The Michigan Bright Lights Show features 250,000 twinkling lights spanning over 3/4 miles.

In addition to the drive-thru show, there’s ice skating, inflatable putt-putt golf, warming stations, and a 350 ft. zip line. The event runs through Sunday in Westland.

This is also the final week for Wild Lights at the Detroit Zoo. The event features millions of lights shining throughout the zoo, animal-themed light sculptures, over 500 immersive displays, live entertainment, drinks, and eats. The lights will dim on Sunday.

The final day to check out some cool small businesses is this Sunday. The Downtown Detroit Markets features 17 local businesses in a quaint, cute space, offering various products. The shops are located in Cadillac Square.

Finally, as the holiday events come to an end, get ready for some winter fun.

If glow tubing sounds interesting, check out Bowers School Farm. Their seasonal fun kicks off this Saturday with the Winter Park event.

Guests can take a ride down the family-friendly 200 ft. neon tubing hill, whether there’s snow or not. There will also be a petting farm, bonfires, sledding, snowshoeing, hot chocolate and more.

The farm located in Bloomfield Hills is open Friday evenings, Saturdays and Sundays, through Feb. 23.
