The Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, launches a Black History Month event this weekend, “More than Motown.” Musician Alvin Waddles will join historian Jamon Jordan to speak about music history.
“Black history, music history, and American history are all intertwined, and I think that is the most important thing. Nothing happened in a vacuum. One thing influenced another thing, and it grew,” Waddles said.
Waddles will be providing examples of the different styles of music as the lecture happens. Jordan will be covering more than 100 years of music history in just an hour.
