A Las Vegas legend is coming to Detroit

She won Las Vegas Comedian Of The Year 9 years in a row

Since 1982, she has been sharing her comedy with the world and she is now considered a Las Vegas legend after being presented the Casino Entertainment Legend Award. She’s also had 10 comedy specials, written six books, and was named Las Vegas Comedian Of The Year 9 years in a row. Now, Rita Rudner is bringing her stand-up to Metro Detroit. Before the show, she spoke with “Live In The D” host Tati Amare about her successful career.

“I was on Broadway for 10 years,” said Rudner. “I said, you know, I’m not getting any younger and I need a career with more longevity, and it was either comedy or congress. So, I’m very excited I chose comedy.”

Rudner is known for her dry and subtle one-liners, and she says that’s the way she’s always been. In fact, she tells up and coming comedians to be whoever they are, and not be someone else.

“I like to talk about everything people relate to, except for politics,” said Rudner.

When it comes to her show, everyone is welcomed. She says laughter is uplifting to both the audience and her.

She’s performing at the Macomb Center For Performing Arts in Clinton Township this Sunday at 3pm. Tickets are available online.
