Ann Arbor celebrates Youth Art Month

Student artwork is on display

March is Youth Art Month, and Ann Arbor is celebrating in style by displaying student artwork at businesses around town.

“Main Street Ann Arbor has partnered with Ann Arbor Public Schools and the businesses in the downtown community to showcase some of the artists and really highlight the value of art education and the contribution from our educators,” explained Ashley Schafer who is the executive director of Main Street Ann Arbor.

Student artwork is being displayed at places like Avalon Cafe & Kitchen, Cherry Republic, Old Town Tavern, Rocket Fizz, and beyond.

“I really hope that people just take a moment to think about what art means and how it really plays a role in our current community and in our world and how important it is just to have a youth voice in the art world,” said student artist Bee Whalen, whose artwork is being showcased.
