If you’re looking something fun to do this weekend, there’s no shortage of events you can attend in and around Detroit.
All Things Detroit Day returns to Eastern Market on Sunday, April 13th. More than 200 vendors will be selling everything from art to food, home goods, and beyond. All Things Detroit Day will be held in Sheds 3, 4 and 5 of Eastern market. It runs from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday with Beat the Crowd ticketholders able to start shopping at 10 a.m.
You can show your support for young performers from the Pontiac Youth Theatre Friday night during the “Many Stories, One Stage” gala. The event will features performances from shows like Wicked, The Greatest Showman, Newsies, and more. It all starts at 7 p.m. Friday, April 11th at the Flagstar Strand Theatre in Pontiac.
If you head to Bloomfield Hills on Saturday, you can learn a dance move or two for free at Fred Astaire Dance Studios. The dance studio is looking to teach ballroom dance to kids and teens through its new group class. Interested students and parents can attend a free open audition on Saturday, April 12th. The dance lesson is happening Saturday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Fred Astaire Dance Studios on Franklin Road in Bloomfield Hills. The event is free and open to the public.
You can have more free fun at the Michigan Science Center on Saturday when a community free day is held. The science center will feature a variety of hands-on STEAM activities. The free day at Michigan Science Center runs from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 12th. Although it’s free, you have to register online in advance on the science center’s website.
