A hairdresser is taking action to help at-risk community members through beauty and wellness initiatives.
Felicia Bachman founded the nonprofit Leo Rising with a mission of restoring dignity and changing lives.
“Being clean is a human right,” Felicia said. “It gives somebody the dignity to feel like a human being.”
Leo Rising provides free haircuts and puts together grooming kits, including toiletries like deodorant, shampoo, lotion, and more. Grooming kits are dropped off at locations such as the Ozone House in Ypsilanti, which serves youth in the community.
